Work

Violin · Voice · Transformation.

Lûmenia is a boundary-crossing performance project by Célia Schann, blending violin and voice into immersive, transformative experiences.

Moving between concert spaces and wild landscapes, her work unfolds as a living, responsive practice — dissolving the distance between performer and audience.

Through deep listening and presence, sound becomes a bridge between inner worlds, human connection, and the living earth.

Lûmenia

Acoustic · Electronic · Transformation.

A collaborative project moving between neoclassical composition and immersive electronic performance.

Rooted in improvisation, their music shifts between precision and expansion — unfolding as both composed works and dynamic live sets.

Rather than separating genres, they explore a continuous musical field where acoustic and electronic elements transform and redefine each other.

Emergence
Axel Tenner & Célia Schann

An emotional thunderstorm, J. S. Bach Partita No. 2 for solo violin leads to an epic last movement that transcends music itself: The immense Chaconne is an Everest of human creativity that few musicians survive:

Lack of oxygen, vertigo, avalanches, extreme temperatures and hurricane-force winds are just a few of the adversities the violinist Célia Schann will have to face, in her attempt to reach the last movement of this cathedral of sorrow, rage and beauty. No sherpas, no extra oxygen, bareback.

The Improvising Symphony Orchestra.

We are a collective of 30 musicians from all over the world. Our passion is to combine the cherished heritage of classical music with the limitless possibility of improvisation. Our concerts are performed without a conductor, without sheet music or chairs, allowing us more freedom for movement and interaction.

Stegreif

A creative collective that designs intimate experiences to rebuild our relationship with the more-than-human world.

Through our practice, we continually experiment with experiential formats that can trigger and sustain shifts in perception.  We see these shifts as both entry points and sources of support within a longer process re-establishing a natural way of being, rooted in deep relationship with the more-than-human world.

Biography

Violinist · Vocalist · Performer · Multidisciplinary Solo Artist

Célia Schann is an award-winning French violinist, vocalist, and multidisciplinary solo artist whose work creates immersive, transformative experiences at the intersection of music, performance, and embodied presence. Classically trained at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, she has developed a distinctive artistic language that moves fluidly between concert halls, interdisciplinary stages, and site-specific environments.

She has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer in renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and Konzerthaus Berlin, as well as in large-scale productions including the Lanxess Arena Cologne. Alongside these stages, her work extends into extraordinary natural settings—from volcano summits to rainforests—bridging classical music with elemental environments and expanding the context of performance.

Since 2018, Célia has been a core member of STEGREIF Orchester, an internationally acclaimed ensemble known for reimagining the symphonic concert through performance from memory, improvisation, movement, and spatial composition. In parallel, she has performed extensively in large-scale crossover productions, including long-term collaboration with the ensemble SCHWARZ, appearing on major stages and festivals across Europe.

She is co-founder and artist of Remember Earth, a creative collective developing site-specific ecological experiences that engage music, listening, and presence as cultural practices in dialogue with living landscapes.

Her solo artistic practice LUMENIA brings together violin, voice, and movement to create intimate, immersive performance formats that explore perception, connection, and the boundaries between performer, audience, and environment.

Alongside her solo work, Célia collaborates with electronic producers and DJs, developing hybrid live formats between acoustic and electronic sound. In close artistic collaboration with Axel Tenner (Duomo), she co-creates original works spanning both studio productions and live performances, exploring the interplay between composed material, improvisation, and real-time sound transformation. Their joint project unfolds at the intersection of electronic music and acoustic expression.

Her practice continues to expand into aerial violin performance, integrating live playing, movement, and three-dimensional space. Célia’s work is regularly presented at international festivals, concert venues, and interdisciplinary platforms.

I create immersive musical experiences through violin and voice — shaped by presence, intuition, and the connection between people and place.

Each performance is a living, responsive process, attuned to the space, the people, and the moment. Moving between concert settings, artistic collaborations, and intimate formats, my work opens spaces for depth, resonance, and shared experience.

I also develop dedicated formats such as Magnetic Room, Echoes of Yourself, and Crossroads to the Wild, which can be adapted or created in dialogue with your context.
